Richard Jones Building Ltd are proactive in our approach to management of projects and ensure that we offer superior quality products with high quality workmanship (from our employees and handpicked, prequalified supply chain), guaranteeing the product meets our own exacting standards, remains within budget and is delivered on time.
These core values have worked well for the company with one of their main sources of business being repeat custom. RJB finds that their reputation for being an exceptional construction company proceeds them.
Richard has worked in construction since leaving school over 50 years ago. Richard is passionate about construction and ensuring that clients get the best quality and value for money, with an ability to envisage a project unlike anyone else. Offering practical advice which ensures the final product is user friendly. Richard invests a lot of time into our employees and sub-contractors to ensure that they learn and develop. He is usually the initial contact for all client enquiries and liaises with architects. Richard oversees all the projects we have running but loves nothing more than being actively involved on site.
Maureen began her career in an architect’s practice and since then developed her skills in accounts work. She is now the financial controller for RJB and has gained a considerable knowledge of construction accountancy. Maureen works closely with our local supply chain to ensure we obtain exceptional rates to pass on to our clients. Maureen oversees the companies Human Resources, maintains the companies’ insurances and is ultimately responsible for the smooth running of the administrative side of the company. Maureen’s eye for detail on site is an asset on major projects helping to ensure they are handed over to an exceptional standard.
Steve worked briefly as a trainee quantity surveyor, before deciding he preferred a more hands on role. Starting at the bottom as a labourer, Steve eventually found his trade as a Plasterer, before becoming a Site Manager and finally moving into contracts management. He is responsible for pricing jobs (including maintenance and small works), sourcing materials, labour management and managing projects we have running. Steve’s specialism is refurbishment for commercial and residential projects, and he is fantastic at fast-track projects.
Mark started his working career as a labourer before finding his trade as a Decorator and working his way up to Site Manager. Due to the company’s expansion Mark then took on an office-based role and took responsibility for pricing and tendering for works. He now oversees the pricing of larger tenders, as well as sourcing materials, supervising the running of projects and managing the maintenance works for one of our domiciliary care clients. Mark’s specialism is New Build construction for commercial and residential projects.
Victoria began working as an administrative assistant for RJB supporting all members of the team. Since obtaining her NEBOSH qualification she has undertaken the role of H&S Officer. She ensures the company abides by all relevant Health and Safety Legislation, organises training for all operatives, keeps RJB up to date with their accreditations (CHAS and SAFEContractor) as well as providing the paperwork for each project as legally required. Victoria is responsible for the IT in the office, keeping the Website and Social Media pages up to date and she also supports the Contract Managers and the Accounts Team, as necessary.
Russell has been a Quantity Surveyor for nearly 25 years, and in this time has been a consultant for 12 years providing Estimating and Quantity Surveying duties. Russell has experience of working across many sectors, in both public and private arenas. He has worked with RJB for the last 8 years as an Estimator and Quantity Surveyor, working with the whole team to price our larger tenders, review contracts, prepare client valuations and final accounts on our behalf. He is an invaluable asset to our team, responsible for producing valuations and reviewing contracts on our behalf.
Steph is the friendly face and voice that greets you when you visit, or call our offices. She assists everyone in the office but her predominant role is to work alongside Maureen.
